I have a prediction to make: the next food fad will be (or already is?) the french macaroon. And I'm all for it.
Sure I love my Magnolia Bakery cupcakes and Sprinkles are . . . eh, so-so. I think, however, that the cupcake has been blown a bit out of proportion. They're tasty, sugary sweet, I love them, but I'm not going to wait in line for three hours for something I can whip up at home in half that time.
The macaroon, on the other hand, is divine. If you have not enjoyed this delicious sandwich cookie, I highly recommend it. They are worth a trip to Paris just to taste. (Just look at the Laduree site. They are as delectable as they are beautiful). Macaroons are tricky to bake, and a pastry chef who can master the recipe deserves the $1.50 a cookie.
Okay, so maybe I'm blowing macaroons way out of proportion, too. But they are good and if you have the chance to try one, do it. I recommend pistachio and vanilla.
(. . . and since we are on the topic of food, I thought I'd mention I'm back on dairy again. It didn't help Nora at all and promptly after having a cheeseburger and shake, she slept for an hour and a half. So, my good friend, Dairy, is back for good. I had missed it so.)

Sadly, I've yet to try one, but I think now I will have to.
I do agree they are lovely. I wouldn't mind wearing those little cookies on my hips and thighs 'cause they come in so many fashionable colors!
They look delicious! I am now craving one and I love pistachio...is there anyplace closer than Paris to get a good one?!?

P.S. I am glad that you get to enjoy dairy again. I think that would be a difficult thing to give up.
Nope, you're not out of line. Macaroons are amazing. So chewy and delicious. Dang it, I want one right now.
Ooh those look really yummy, I am definitely going to have to try one. Glad you are back on dairy, that sounded brutal.
I want one! I've never had a macaroon... but they do look divine.
And, by the way, I love your writing. Such great voice! I can hear you telling me whatever you write. I love it.
I have never had a macaroon, but I think I will try one. Hurray for dairy!
