The 2010 World Expo starts in 2 days and I've been discovering the exhibitions of many of the 190 countries that will take part. Over 100 pavilions have been constructed, and some of my favorites are below (imgaes via huffingtonpost.com):
the Finnish pavilion

. . . and my favorite: the British pavilion. It is also called the "Seed Cathedral", and you can read all about it here.
Seriously, read about it---it is so interesting. The building is constructed from transparent rods that have seeds implanted at the end of each (they partnered with Kew gardens). The rods attract light during the day to illuminate the interior of the structure. At night, there is a light source in each rod that makes the structure glow. So awesome.

The Seed Cathedral is inspirational. What would it be like to be able to go see those pavillions? mmm.
