It's a hard knock life

When I posted about Nora magically becoming a "normal", non-fussy baby (see here) I think I jinxed her.  About a week after that post she reverted to her old ways.  3o minute naps, unhappiness and now not sleeping at night have reemerged.  I feel a mental and physical breakdown coming.  Okay, not really (or really?).

Good luck! We should get together again soon. Either the 4 of us or the 6 of us. Kate keeps asking about Nora.

Sarah, I am so sorry she is such a non-sleeper! And I am so sorry dairy is out. Sad day.

All my sleepy thoughts to you and Nora!

I feel your pain. I have been off dairy, soy and gluten for sometime now. It gets easier as you go and I am sure Nora appreciates it :)
If you need any good substitutes, I can give you some tips.

I had to do the same thing with Luke. It is so hard but, like Lori said, it gets easier everyday. Especially as you see Nora's changes with it, which I hope you see.
Good Luck!

I'm so sorry to hear that she is so unhappy! I hope the diet works out. I think I would be miserable without cheese and ice cream, but it would be worth it for sleep. Good luck!

i was the same way as a babe. my mom went off the dairy and it still did me no good, i just cried and cried for the first few months. even when i was a teenager and my mom talked about it her face would cloud over with exhaustion, you poor mommy you.

the good news is that i grew out of it and turned out pretty darn awesome.

Ok...had all these same problems with Hallie. My favorite nursing book is "The nursing mothers companion". I know you probably get advice from everyone under the sun, but the biggest "offenders" of making babies sick are: caffiene, garlic, onion, and chocolate. The one I discovered was making Hallie sick was garlic. You would be surprised about what has garlic in it. I had to read every food label under the sun before I could eat it, and that usually ruled it out. Anyways, I don't know if you have already tried cutting those other foods out...but if you haven't it might be worth a try also.

As soon as I read the sentence that you were off dairy I thought of Rite Aid mint chocolate chip ice cream. I do not envy you right now, although seeing all the cute pictures and videos of Nora really makes me want a baby. Hope things get better soon.

That is a challenge to not eat dairy. I would be having major withdrawals, especially with cheese! I hope that your happy Nora returns soon:)

I am totally with you on the diet thing! I gained like 30 pounds since Jarom and I got married and I have NO excuse. No baby, no big drama, just happiness and total control over the kitchen. (= I'm on a diet again too and have lost 15 pounds so far, only about 20 more to go. Whoo! (= You can do it.
