Maybe I've been seeing too much of Willy Wonka lately. . .

. . . but I really love this chandelier made out of gummy bears (via Jellio). I wonder how long it would take to make one of those myself.
Speaking of Willy Wonka. . . I really love that movie. Although, I do think the set designers could have improved upon their concept of the chocolate room. I learned that the director didn't allow any of the actors to see any of the chocolate factory before they filmed their scenes in order to capture a true reaction. When they all walk into the chocolate room, however, I think you can see a little disappointment in their faces. They're trying to look enchanted, but I just don't buy it.

Ah well, childhood imagination always used to make up for what reality was lacking. I never felt it was anything less than magical when I used to watch it as a kid.

Also, Gene Wilder is amazing. I want John to dress up like W.W. this Halloween. . I think he'll go for it.

I, too, was always disappointed in the chocolate room, maybe we discussed that as kids and reinforced it in each other. That gummy bear chandelier is incredible, but would last about two seconds in my house because Finley would find a way to climb up and eat it and Sibi would ask me every other minute if she could eat a bear.

I love the old Charlie and the Chocolate factory! I never knew that they weren't allowed to see the rooms until they got there... that's fun. I would LOVE to go to that chocolate room (so-so or not!) and eat some of it up right now!
