For those of you who don't know, there is a proposition that will be on California's November ballot and it's aim is to protect marriage. (You can find out more about proposition 8
here.) The basic run-down is this: in 2000, a proposition was passed by a strong majority of voters in California which defined marriage between a man and a woman. Unfortunately, this decision was nullified by 4 supreme court judges a few months ago. Now, an amendment to the state's constitution (Prop 8) is up for vote, and it would restore marriage between a man and a woman. This needs to pass.
There are many arguments---rational, logical, emotional---that I can present to support this proposition, but what it comes down to is this:
End of discussion.
I support Prop 8 because the family needs to be protected. Marriage is right and good, glorious, in fact. People (including myself) have to speak out about the things that they know to be right, and this is one thing that is centered in my heart.
Vote YES on Proposition 8.

Absolutely! ...& your little Nora is just simply adorable! Love love, "Aunt" Julie
Amen. A few weeks ago when in California Jeremy and I went to get our marriage license. It was somewhat of a shock that two women were also there for the same purpose. I wish I was in California and could be doing more to advocate Prop 8.
I'm an old friend of Johns's who has tracked down your blog. I'm also in California and me and a few friends are contributing to a Prop 8 blog - www.standformarriage.blogspot.com
check it out when you get the time
What a great way to get the word out and show your support. This has been very controversial in our ward which is literally split in two on their views. Glad to hear you are on the right team :)
